April events at the Denver Art Museum

In April, DAM is excited to welcome all visitors for FREE on Sunday, April 25, in celebration of Día del Niño. On that day, visitors will also have the opportunity to contribute to an installation by local artist Lares Feliciano, and DAM will be rounding out the month with another Untitled: Creative Fusions at Home with artists and creatives from the community.

Free Day at the Denver Art Museum – April 25, 2021

All visitors can enjoy FREE general admission to the Denver Art Museum on Sunday, April 25! Exhibitions on view for visitors to experience for free that day include Paris to Hollywood: The Fashion and Influence of Véronique and Gregory Peck, The 19th Century in European and American Art and Shantell Martin: Words and Lines.

General admission is free, but timed-entry tickets are required and will be available April 11.

Contribute to two upcoming exhibitions at the DAM

Marie Watt’s Monumental Sculpture – Contribution deadline: April 16

Give a blanket, share your story and be a part of a monumental new sculpture by artist Marie Watt at the Denver Art Museum. The new work will be part of Each/Other: Marie Watt and Cannupa Hanska Luger, opening May 23. The deadline to contribute is April 16. In return for participating, you will receive a small limited-edition screen print from Marie Watt.

Memory Mirror Community Collection Day – April 25, 2021

Contribute to local artist Lares Feliciano’s upcoming Denver Art Museum installation Memory Mirror! Lares invites museum visitors and community members to contribute audio, images and objects that represent their own memories on April 25, from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. in the Studio. Learn more about how to participate.

Opening in July 2021, Memory Mirror is an immersive installation that will invite visitors to explore their relationship with memory through animation, dioramas and storytelling in the museum’s Precourt Family Discovery Hall, which will be transformed into a surreal domestic den that is both familiar and fantastic.

Untitled: Creative Fusions – April 30, 2021

Untitled: Creative Fusions at Home is back on Friday, April 30, with the theme “Show & Tell.” Fiber artist Katy Batsel and interactive digital installation artist Chris Bagley are creating an evening of exploring self-expressions and visual identity, inspired by the exhibition Paris to Hollywood. Celebrate art and local artists from the comfort of home at Untitled “Show & Tell.” Find the previous Untitled: Creative Fusions at Home recordings on the museum’s website or the full playlist on YouTube.
