Denver City Council has appointed a new Executive Director.

On Monday, Jan. 3, 2022, Denver City Council appointed Bonita Roznos as their new Executive Director. Prior to joining the City and County of Denver, Bonita served as the administrator for the Seattle Office of Hearing Examiner where her responsibilities included budget, finance, and human resource management.

“Denver City Council and I are excited to welcome our new Executive Director, Bonita Roznos,” said Council President Stacie Gilmore. “Bonita’s extensive experience in government operations will be a tremendous asset to our Central team and provide invaluable support to council members and offices.”

She has served in senior administrative positions at a two-year technical college, a private research university, and for colleges in the California State University and University of California systems. She also held the role of Deputy City Clerk for the City of Vallejo, California and the City of Shoreline, Washington, and as the Council Operations Manager for the Sacramento City Council.

“Bonita Roznos has demonstrated experience well-suited to lead our City Council operations, assist our council members in their policy efforts, support employee growth, and develop a vision for the future,” said Council President Pro Tem Jamie Torres. “We look forward to having her leadership skills and knowledge on our City Council team.”

Bonita holds a Doctor of Education in Leadership from City University of Seattle and she possesses a Master of Education in Administration and a Bachelor of Sociology from the University of Southern California. In her free time, Bonita enjoys traveling, riding roller coasters, reading, and cheering for her favorite sport teams.
