Denver city government closed Monday, March 29

Most City and County of Denver offices, including City Council offices, will be closed Monday, March 29 for the César Chávez Day holiday.
DENVER – Most City and County of Denver offices will be closed Monday, March 29 for the César Chávez Day holiday. Due to the holiday, the Mayor’s Office, City Council offices, Clerk and Recorder’s Office, Auditor’s Office and most city agencies will be closed. Partner entities such as Denver Health will remain open Monday, March 29, as will agencies that operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week, such as Denver International Airport. Sworn members of the Denver Sheriff, Police and Fire departments and other emergency responders will report for duty Monday, March 29 as well.   Several city services remain on modified operations schedules independent of holidays and scheduled furlough days due to COVID-19. 3-1-1 INFORMATION LINE, DENVERGOV.ORG AND DENVER 8 TV
3-1-1, the city’s information line for non-emergency services will be closed Monday, March 29. Service requests may be submitted via mobile device using Pocketgov or online at denvergov.org/denver311. Updates are available continuously on www.denvergov.org. ANIMAL SHELTER & ANIMAL PROTECTION
The Denver Animal Shelter will be closed Monday, March 29. Animal Protection Officers will be available to respond to emergencies as requested by the Denver Police Department.

AUDITOR’S OFFICE
The Auditor’s Office will be closed Monday, March 29.

BUILDING AND ZONING PERMITS AND INSPECTIONS
Building and Zoning permitting will be closed Monday, March 29. No inspections will be scheduled those days.  

CITY COUNCIL
All Denver City Council offices will be closed Monday, March 29 due to the holiday. The regular meeting of City Council will be Tuesday, March 30 at 5:30 p.m.  

CITY-OWNED GOLF FACILITIES
Golf courses will be open on Monday, March 29, weather permitting.  

CLERK & RECORDER’S OFFICE
The Office of the Clerk and Recorder – including the Denver Elections Division, marriage licensing, the Public Trustee, Records and Recording – will be closed Monday, March 29.

COMMUNITY TESTING SITES Denver’s community testing sites will be open Monday, March 29. Hours of operation will vary for Denver’s community testing sites. For more information, including dates, times and locations for COVID-19 testing, please visit the city’s testing information page.

COURTS
The Denver County Court will be closed Monday, March 29. The Denver County Court will not be hosting an Outreach Court session at the Denver Rescue Mission on Monday, March 29 due to the holiday. All state-operated courts, including the Denver District Court, Juvenile Court and Probate Court located in the City and County Building, will be open Monday, March 29.

DENVER ARTS & VENUES
Outdoor spaces at Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre will be open Monday, March 29, as will the Red Rocks Trading Post. For event information, visit artscomplex.com, redrocksonline.com, denverconvention.com, mcnicholsbuilding.com, denvercoliseum.com, denverpublicart.org and artsandvenuesdenver.com.

DENVER MOTOR VEHICLE TITLE AND REGISTRATION
Denver Motor Vehicle Title and Registration will be closed Monday, March 29 and will not be processing mail or taking phone transactions. For vehicle renewal online, visit the Denver Motor Vehicle website or mydmv.colorado.gov.

DENVER HUMAN SERVICES
Denver Human Services will be closed Monday, March 29, however child and adult protection emergency response teams and telephone hotlines will be taking and responding to reports. To report suspected child abuse or neglect call 1-844-CO-4-KIDS (1-844-264-5437) from anywhere in Colorado. To report elder abuse for an adult 70 years and older or the abuse, neglect or exploitation of an adult with an intellectual or developmental disability, call the Denver Police Department at 720-913-2000. For all other adult protection calls, please call 720-944-4DHS (4347).  

DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION & INFRASTRUCTURE PERMIT COUNTERS
DOTI permit and the Right Of Way Enforcement offices will be closed Monday, March 29. Permit counters remain closed to in-person service due to COVID-19. To apply for a right of way permit, visit Denver’s online permitting and licensing center at: denvergov.org/AccelaCitizenAccess.  

EXCISE & LICENSES
Excise and Licenses’ customer service counters and offices are currently only accepting in-person applications via appointment, and will be closed Monday, March 29. Learn more about submitting an application via email.  

LIBRARIES
All virtual and on-site services will be unavailable on Monday, March 29 for the César Chávez Day holiday. While many buildings remain closed for most on-site operations during the COVID-19 pandemic, services available now include curbside services and book drops at all locations, with the exception of Byers. Please visit the library’s response to COVID-19 page for more information. Residents can still use many of the library’s resources even when the buildings are closed.

OFFICE OF HUMAN RESOURCES TALENT ACQUISITION TESTING AND NEW HIRE ONBOARDING 
The Office of Human Resources Talent Acquisition Testing Center will be closed Monday, March 29. Applicants will still be able to search and apply for open positions at denvergov.org/jobs. The Talent Acquisition front desk will also be closed Monday, March 29. New Hire Onboarding assistance and I-9 verification will resume on Tuesday, March 30.  

OFFICE OF THE MEDICAL EXAMINER (CORONER)
The Office of the Medical Examiner (Coroner) will be closed Monday, March 29. Office staff will be available to respond to emergencies.

PARKING METERS, CASHIERS AND MAGISTRATE
Parking meters are free on Sundays and on recognized city holidays, and will be free Monday, March 29. Drivers are reminded to observe the time restrictions posted.

In-person cashiering services at the Wellington E. Webb Building are closed due to COVID-19. To request residential parking permits or to pay parking citations online, go to www.parksmartdenver.com. For parking permit questions, call 720-913-5365 For citation questions, call 1-866-280-9988   In order to practice social distancing and help prevent the spread of COVID-19, the Parking Magistrate’s Office is currently not accepting walk-in hearings, but is working remotely to assist customers. To reach the Parking Magistrate: Dispute a parking ticket on line at www.parksmartdenver.com. Contact the parking magistrate by phone at 1-866-280-9988, Monday – Friday between 8:00 am and 4:30 pm.  

RECREATION CENTERS
All Denver Recreation Centers and Pools are closed until further notice as details on how to reopen safely and equitably amid COVID-19 are determined. All centers that are meal sites will not be offering meal service on Monday, March 29.  

TAXPAYER SERVICE CENTER
The Taxpayer Service Center will be closed Monday, March 29. Additionally, Denver’s TPS will be reducing its in-person service hours to 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday and Thursday only until further notice. Online and mail transactions remain available seven days a week. Online services are available for: excise tax transactions (Sales, Use, Lodgers, OPT, TBT, E911, TID) including account registration, tax return filing, and tax return payments at denvergov.org/ebiztax. Real estate property taxes or business personal property tax payments can also be made at denvergov.org/property.

TRASH, RECYCLING & COMPOST COLLECTION
Trash, recycling and composting will not be collected on Monday, March 29. Collection will be delayed one day the remainder of the week.  

VEHICLE IMPOUND FACILITY
The Vehicle Impound Facility, 5160 York St., will be closed Monday, March 29.

WASTEWATER MANAGEMENT
The Wastewater Management Building, 2000 W. 3rd Ave., will be closed Monday, March 29.

WORKFORCE CENTERS
All Denver Workforce Centers will be closed Monday, March 29. The city’s online hiring system will be available at www.denvergov.org/jobs.
