Today’s City Council meeting canceled (3/15)

Denver City Council is canceling its general public comment session and its regular meeting scheduled for tonight (Monday, March 15) because of City buildings being closed due to the blizzard and heavy snow.

Although Council can meet virtually using Zoom, Council is required by the City Charter to have chambers open to the public. Because the City & County Building is closed due to weather, opening chambers is not possible.

In addition, for accessibility reasons, the meeting needs to be aired on Denver 8 TV, which requires multiple employees to be on-site at the City & County Building. For the safety of City employees, we will cancel the meeting to avoid unnecessary travel. All committee meetings for the week are planned to be held as scheduled. The next regular meeting of City Council will be Monday, March 22 at 5:30 p.m.
