Denver residents are asked to reduce water use by 20% as Denver Water declares a Stage 1 drought, effective immediately.
Councilman Hinds supports this effort to protect our community’s water supply during our unusually dry and warm conditions. Automatic irrigation systems should remain off until mid-to-late May, and watering grass twice a week in April and early May is not necessary. Occasional hand-watering may be necessary for trees and shrubs that are often overlooked and is encouraged during this time. Look for upcoming newsletters segments where we will share Denver Water’s tips on how your water-saving actions can make a difference.
