A 20-minute neighborhood is one where the everyday things that make up daily life — groceries, a good meal, a park, a school, a doctor, a coffee shop, a bus, a library — are all within a 20-minute walk, ride, or roll of your front door. It is a simple test of whether a place is built around people rather than parking lots.
When everything you need is close, you can depend on your car less. That means cleaner air and livelier, safer streets; more time with family and neighbors; and a neighborhood economy where local businesses are within reach of the people they serve. It is also a matter of access: not everyone can or wants to drive, and a neighborhood that only works from behind the wheel leaves people out. This is about more options close to home — never fewer.
It is also Denver’s own goal. The city’s Comprehensive Plan 2040 and Blueprint Denver call for “complete neighborhoods” that are walkable, connected, and mixed-use — the same idea, in the city’s words. And with more than 6,000 businesses in District 10, this isn’t a someday dream: it’s already within reach.

Walk to dinner and your dollars stay local, the sidewalks stay lively, and you meet neighbors over a table instead of in traffic. The corner café is a neighborhood’s living room — a place to work, meet a friend, or simply be a regular. With more than a dozen coffee shops across the district, a good cup is rarely more than a short walk away.

Nearby parks give everyone room to move, breathe and gather without getting in a car — and they cool the city and clean the air. Nearby: Cheesman, Congress, Commons, Civic Center and Skyline parks, plus the Cherry Creek Trail.
