We All Need Access
We all need access. For some, accommodating that access is simple. For others, there are institutional barriers set up to inhibit access. No matter who you are, where you are from, where you live, who you love, how you identify yourself, your ability or disability, you should have access.
Denver’s Perfect 10 is committed to providing a fully accessible website experience for all users of all abilities, including those who rely on assistive technologies like screen readers, screen enlargement software, and alternative keyboard input devices to navigate the web.
We’ve been tested, and you should get tested, too
We follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.1 as our guiding principle for determining accessibility. These are internationally agreed-upon standards that cover a wide range of recommendations and best practices for making content usable. As we add new pages and functionality to our website, all designs, code, and content entry practices are checked against these standards.
To that end, we engaged a third party firm that specializes in website accessibility, and as of December 1st, 2023, this agency determined this website to be WCAG 2.1 compliant.
And yes, if you maintain a website of your own, it’s important that you ensure access for everyone, including those who use assistive devices to browse the web.
Ongoing Efforts to Ensure Accessibility
Of course, this website is a living creature. We intend to add content to it regularly, and website accessibility is an ongoing process.
We continually test content and features for WCAG 2.1 Level AA compliance and remediate any issues to ensure we meet or exceed the standards. Testing of our website is performed by our team members using industry-standard tools such as accessibility tools, color contrast analyzers, keyboard-only navigation techniques, and Flesch-Kincaid readability tests.

Where We’re Improving
To maintain our WCAG compliance, we continually research better ways to ensure everyone is informed in a way that is accessible to everyone. Maintaining a website like this is not part of a core function of an elected official, so we strive to make those processes effortless so anyone in our office can provide content that automatically works for everyone the first time.
This is part of our broader effort to make everyone’s experience with Denver’s Perfect 10 a welcoming and enjoyable one. Please note that while we make every effort to provide information accessible for all users, we cannot guarantee the accessibility of third party websites to which we may link.
