Inside Denver’s New All Inn Hotel, Another Restoration of East Colfax’s Motel Heydays

Mid-century Modern Interior of the All Inn Hotel

Denver residents in District 10 now have a restored historic hotel that preserves East Colfax’s unique character while supporting local business and culture. The All Inn Hotel, located at 3015 E. Colfax Ave., reopened after years of vacancy, offering 54 rooms along with a restaurant and an all-day café and bar called All Is Well.

Councilmember Chris Hinds played a key role in encouraging the hotel’s restoration rather than converting the building into low-cost workforce housing. He recognized the need for more lodging options in the area and worked with city leaders to keep the hotel open.

Originally built in 1959 as the Fountain Inn, the building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places for its midcentury modern design and its part in shaping East Colfax as a nightlife and entertainment hub. It became The All Inn in 2003 and housed the popular Rock Bar music venue until 2012.

The hotel’s reopening aligns with the city’s investment in the nearby Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project, which aims to improve transportation along Colfax Avenue. This public investment gave the hotel’s owner confidence to commit to the restoration.

Chris Hinds emphasizes the importance of balancing growth and preserving the neighborhood’s “cool vibe,” encouraging collaboration among residents, businesses, and city leaders to ensure East Colfax remains a vibrant community.

The All Inn Hotel’s revival is a positive step for District 10, providing more amenities and supporting the ongoing revitalization of the area.
