Big Changes Are Coming To The Denver Energy Center

The Downtown Denver Development Authority, (DDDA) a tax financing district is distributing $570 million in bonds to fund projects across downtown Denver. One of the recipients of the bond money, Luzzatto Co. has purchased the twin towers of the Denver Energy Center at 1625 and 1675 Broadway, for $5.25 million and now the new owners, Luzzatto Co. has filed a concept plan to revive the 900,000 square foot buildings.

The biggest changes are expected at Tower Two at 1625 Broadway, with plans to convert the former office space into 360 housing units with amenities such as a gym, coffee shop. co-working spaces and a theatre. Tower One will remain office spaces but will see upgrades to the building systems and also offer amenities; together, they offer easy access to 16th Street.
The estimated project cost is $319.66 million. Luzzatto asked the DDA for $62.97 million. The DDDA board is expected to vote on support for this project later this month. Stay tuned for further details!
