Councilman Chris Hinds helped celebrate the start of the Pearl Street Uptown Apartments, a new mixed-income housing project that will add 158 affordable homes in the heart of Uptown Denver.
Located at 1600 Pearl Street, this development combines new construction with preservation of existing apartments to serve people with a range of incomes. It offers housing options for individuals, families, and working households, helping ensure that longtime and new residents can afford to stay close to jobs, transit, healthcare, and neighborhood amenities.
The Northeast Denver Housing Center (NDHC), known for creating affordable and sustainable housing in Denver, is leading this effort. The project is a collaboration between nonprofits, public agencies, private partners, and community members focused on addressing the city’s housing challenges.
Councilman Hinds spoke at the groundbreaking ceremony, emphasizing the importance of stable, affordable housing for district residents. He looks forward to seeing how these new homes will support a diverse, thriving community in Uptown for years to come.
