If you’re uninsured in District 10, Councilman Hinds wants you to know there’s an easy way to find affordable health coverage when you file your Colorado state taxes.
Thanks to a state program created by House Bill 20-1236, residents can simply check a box on their tax return to indicate they don’t have health insurance and want to learn about options. This helps connect you directly to free or low-cost coverage without any obligation to enroll.
This program helps you access health care by making the process simple and confidential. Your information is used only to see if you qualify for Health First Colorado (Colorado’s Medicaid program) or financial assistance to reduce monthly premiums through Connect for Health Colorado, the state’s official health insurance marketplace. If you qualify, you can enroll during a Special Enrollment Period, even outside the usual open enrollment window. This means more people in District 10 can get the care they need without worrying about high costs.
To learn more and take advantage of this opportunity, visit Connect for Health Colorado. Getting covered means better health and peace of mind for you and your family, and Chris is committed to helping make that happen for our community.
