Five years after launching a pilot program to address a need for publicly accessible restrooms in the central part of the city, the City and County of Denver is installing a freestanding, permanent public restroom on Champa Street, just off the 16th Street Mall. It is anticipated to be available for public use this spring after utility connections and other site work details currently underway are complete.

On January 13, 2021, DDP hosted a Safety and Security Town Hall featuring Denver Police Chief Paul Pazen, Alan Salazar (Mayor Hancock’s Chief of Staff), Evan Dreyer (Mayor Hancock’s Deputy Chief of Staff), and Mary Dulacki (Denver’s Deputy Director of Public Safety).
